We're Heading to the Gold Coast: Introducing Our New Mitchell Park Location

Big news for anyone on the southern end of South East Queensland — Boat Coach is expanding onto the Gold Coast, with a new training location at **Mitchell Park Boat Ramp, Southport**. If you've been putting off your boat or PWC licence because Cleveland or Manly felt like a trek, this one's for you.

Why Mitchell Park?

Mitchell Park sits at the northern end of the Broadwater Parklands on Marine Parade, right on the Gold Coast Broadwater and just across from Seaworld. It's one of the busiest and best-equipped public ramps on the Coast — multiple lanes, floating walkways, a pontoon, and easy parking, which makes loading and unloading straightforward for a full day of training.

The water itself is what really makes it work for us. The Broadwater here is sheltered and relatively flat, which is exactly what you want when someone's getting behind the wheel of a boat or jet ski for the first time. It's forgiving enough to build confidence early, but it still sits close to the Gold Coast Seaway, so there's real, varied water nearby as students progress. Add in the fact that it's a genuinely scenic spot to spend the day, and it's an easy choice for a new training base.

What this means for Gold Coast locals

Up until now, most of our Gold Coast students have made the drive up to our Redlands location for their RMDL or PWC licence. With Mitchell Park up and running, that's no longer necessary — you can complete your theory and practical training right there on the Broadwater, with the same Boat Coach instructors and course standard you'd get anywhere else.

Our home turf: Cleveland

Mitchell Park is a new addition, not a replacement. Boat Coach still runs the bulk of our training out of **Cleveland** in the Redlands, which has been our home base since day one. It remains our primary location for recreational licensing, commercial ticket practical blocks, and everything in between — if you're on the bayside, nothing changes for you.

Having a foothold at both ends now, Moreton Bay and the Broadwater — means we can serve a lot more of South East Queensland without asking people to travel further than they need to. Whether you're closer to Cleveland or Southport, there's a Boat Coach location near you.
