- Hold a current Recreational Boat Licence
- Practical on-water tasks witnessed and signed off by an observer* using AMSA form 1882
- One day of qualifying sea service on a commercial vessel.
- You must hold a current 'Provide first aid' certificate (HLTAID011), or equivalent.
- A signed certificate of medical fitness (AMSA form 1850)
